What We Believe.
The Care Pregnancy Center believes that all human life is created by God and is sacred. Our commitment is to dramatically reduce the number of lives lost or changed by abortion. We provide free, professional, and compassionate services to each client. We offer alternatives to abortion, promote sexual purity, and provide post-abortion counseling.
ECFA Accredited.
In 2013 we received our accreditation from the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. The ECFA enhances trust in Christ-centered churches and ministries by establishing and applying Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship™ to accredited organizations.

Our History.
In 1991, a group of concerned Christians came together for the purpose of prayer as a result of an ever-increasing rise in the pregnancy rate as well as an increase in the abortion industry in the Shreveport-Bossier area. This group, comprised of lay men and women and local pastors, realized the critical need to reach out into the community and offer alternatives to abortion to those faced with a crisis pregnancy. With much prayer, fasting and study of the Word of God, they formally organized as the Ark-La-Tex Crisis Pregnancy Center. (CPC)
A local Board of Directors establishes the Crisis Pregnancy Center’s operating policies, fiscal policies and strategic direction. All board members are active Christians who have committed their time and prayer to the Center and its outreach. They, in turn, appoint an Executive Director who has full responsibility for the CPC, which includes the implementation of the policies and procedures (approved by the Board of Directors) within the parameters of the Center’s budget.
The Crisis Pregnancy Center is incorporated under the Louisiana Non-Profit Corporation Act, therefore, all contributions are tax deductible. They are also affiliated with Care Net (formerly the Christian Action Council), an international, Christian ministry that assists and promotes the evangelistic, pro-life work of pregnancy centers. CPC subscribes to the Care Net statements of faith and principle.
The CPC opened their doors in November of 1994. That year they saw one client and the services offered included free pregnancy tests, confidential peer counseling and educational materials. Now, they minister to over 200 clients each month and have added limited ultrasound, abstinence education in schools and church youth groups, adoption counseling and referrals, post abortion and sexual abuse bible studies, a Merits for Mom material assistance incentive program, community resource referrals and a 24 hour option line.
Local churches, individuals and organizations provide all funding for the Care Pregnancy Center. The Center has never charged a client for services rendered.
